Garth Giesbrecht
Garth Giesbrecht was born in Canada in 1967. He began painting in 1990 after being inspired by the work of Jackson Pollock. He is self taught and his influences include Cy Twombly, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Chuck Close, Caravaggio, Attila Richard Lukacs, Jenny Saville as well as outsider and graffiti art. He has had his work displayed in galleries in Winnipeg and at various venues in Vancouver. He currently resides in Houston, Texas.
